Calling all MIS students!
There is an opportunity available with the UCF/Lockheed Martin College Work Experience Program. A position is open for a MIS student who can make at least a year committment with the program.Desired Qualifications: Exposure to higher level programming languages (esp. C++, JAVA, XML), good written/verbal communication skills, and analytical and problem solving skills.
Candidate will be expected to participate in all phases of system development to include: high level design, detailed design, development, and test & integration.
Candidate will work very closely with an integrated functional team to ensure adherence to requirements through operational deployment.
Candidate will be called upon to work during setup and maintenance/debug efforts. Experience in Object Oriented Design is desired, as well as experience with Java or C++. Any experience in GUI development, embedded software, middleware, system management, and XML is a plus.

This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization’s database with specific responsibility for managing data preparation and entry, integration and verification for event registrants, donors, gifts and pledges as well as agency clients and family members, new members and service providers.This individual will manage and update the organization’s website and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The qualified candidate will possess the minimum of an Associate degree in Office Systems and at least two years experience with database management and website admin experience. The position requires excellent computer software knowledge and learning aptitude, strong customer service and communication skills, the ability to work well independently, maintain accurate records, and retrieve information quickly.This position requires some travel, generally within Central Florida, but occasionally may require regional or national travel. This position may often times require the use of employee’s automobile, which must have adequate insurance coverage. Working hours may include evenings and weekends, outside regular office hours. While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The position requires lifting and carrying of supplies for the office, events and programs.

"The US Census Bureau is hiring temporary field workers in every state and territory of the United States. Every ten years the U.S. Census Bureau is responsible for conducting a nationwide headcount of all residents. The 2010 Census offers part-time jobs for almost anyone. Retirees, college student, stay-at-home moms and dads, and job seekers can make money working in their own neighborhood.Census Takers (also called Enumerators) will work during the Spring of 2009 and Spring and Summer of 2010. These temporary jobs will pay from $11 to $19 per hour based on the job location, plus mileage reimbursement. Jobs are from 20 to 40 hours per week and paychecks are received on a weekly basis.
